At the end of 2008, Alison & Billy stepped back from the hustle and bustle of Rock House in the centre of the picturesque harbour at St Abbs. The short move was upwards, to a more sedate pace of life in the former Manse (Church Minister's house) situated overlooking the harbour. This quieter life had a frantic start. There were several months of painstaking restoration of the large house to become the Westhaven, a luxury guest house.

In addition to rebuilding the house, Billy also commissioned and built the Wavedancer II, a catamaran designed for diving in the Marine Reserve and along the Berwickshire coast. The Wavedancer is much faster and more spacious than her predecessors, and represents the very best in diving luxury.

With a new house and a new boat, Billy & Alison needed a new name for the business. With people coming to dive and people coming to stay, it almost named itself.

Billy & Alison have always lived in the area and their family names are woven into the history. Billy has worked on the sea all his life. Often times he was away fishing. Alison says this is the secret of a long marriage.

Visitors and guests to Westhaven will undoubtedly meet many of the family. Children and grand-children are often visiting. We guarantee that the various pet dogs will also welcome you. (If they are not trying to escape into the fields! again!)
